Tecade will be a pioneer in the South of Spain in the manufacture of TPs for offshore wind projects

  • Tecade will participate in the Moray East project, located in front of the Scotland coast, one of the most important projects in the North Sea

  • The project will involve 350,000 hours of work and the generation of direct and indirect specialized employment in the auxiliary industry of the province

  • With this contract, Tecade puts the province of Seville at the forefront of the offshore wind industry

Tecade has obtained an important contract to fabricate 20 transition pieces (TPs) for Moray East wind farm in Scotland with a project amount of € 12,700,000. The contract has been carried out through the company #NAVANTIA and through Nervión Industrias. Work is already underway at the Tecade workshop in the Port of Seville.

This project is a great boost to a sector as specialized as the metallurgist in Andalusia and opens a new market opportunity as they will be the first structures of this type to be manufactured in southern Spain. Its development will also affect a greater activity for the area of the Port of Seville where the manufacturing process of the pieces will take place.

For the execution of the project, 320,000 hours of work and the direct occupation of 265 and up to 350 people will be invested. At this point Tecade is already working with specific professional training programs in welding based on the needs of the projects it has underway, which will facilitate a greater labor insertion of unemployed youth and a greater professional qualification of the most demanded profiles .

Once the construction phase of the pieces is finished, they will be sent to the Navantia facilities in Puerto Real where the assembly with the upper part of the jacket will be carried out and then to Newcastle (UK) where the complete assembly of the structure will take place.

The project as a whole represents for Tecade, on the one hand, an important challenge, since it is a major work that is very complex given the high quality requirements, and on the other hand, an excellent opportunity to consolidate the international projection of the Company and Seville as a benchmark in the marine wind industry market.
