TECADE is finishing the construction of the first offshore substation fabricated in Seville

TECADE is finalising the construction of the first of the two offshore electrical substations that are being built for the Danish contractor Bladt Industries A/S for the offshore wind farm Coastal Virginia Offshore Wind, located on the Atlantic coast of the United States.

The construction of these imposing structures is a real milestone for both TECADE and metal-mechanic industry in Seville, with the consequent boost to the international image of the capacity that TECADE can offer for such complex and demanding projects.

In advance of the upcoming shipment and subsequent transport of the substation, last Wednesday 28th, the barge UR 171 arrived in Seville, towed by the ship Centaurus, and is currently moored at the quay where the two substations are being built. This barge is 100 m long, 33.5 m wide and can carry a load of 16,800 tonnes.
